Christmas Cards with non Seasonal Supplies

Mar 5, 2022 | Card Ideas, Christmas, Step by step

Welcome to this months Stampin’ for Christmas Blog hop. We our a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world sharing Christmas card making and papercraft ideas using Stampin’ Up! Supplies. We are currently on holiday in Antigua so thought it would be fun to challenge myself to make two cards with no Christmas themed supplies to hand!

Abstract Beauty Suite

As I just mentioned, I’m currently away in Antigua watching the cricket (one of my other loves along side my darling hubby!). I always bring some crafting supplies with me in my hand luggage, but couldn’t really justify a Christmas set of supplies this early on in the year! So I thought making a card for this hop was going to be a challenge, but no our product range is just so well designed you really can adapt so many of our sets to suite so many different occasions.

I chose to use the Abstract Beauty Suite as it certainly sits in the versatile bundle column.

The bright zingy colour palette really sets the whole suite off, but don’t worry there are some more muted tones and the gold foiled details in the papers and ephemera pack really give that touch of luxury.

Christmas Cards with non Seasonal Supplies – Quilted Tree

I was inspired to make this card by the wonderful Abstract Beauty 4″ x 6″ Speciality Designer Series paper. I wondered how it would look quilted and I am pleased I tried as I love how it has turned out

The hexagonal pieces have been die cut with the duo die from the Beautiful Shapes dies in the suite. They are the perfect size for the tree and because it cuts two shapes each pass, takes no time to make.

How gorgeous are these papers? I just love how the gold foil elements just add that lovely detail to the design

You may have spotted that wonderful sentiment. Its from the Many Messages Stamp Set and works perfectly with the card.

It just goes to show that by choosing the right stamps and dies you can makes cards all year round.

You could even make you own one sheet wonder patterned paper using the Hello Beautiful Stamp set. Yay to lots of versatility!

Christmas Cards with non Seasonal Supplies – Quilted Wreath

Once I started I just couldn’t stop and this wreath was a great way to use up the rest of the 4″ by 6″ sheet of DSP.

The wreath is made of 12 hexagons formed into two layers. The bottom one is the reverse side of the patterned paper to give some contrast

This time the Basic White layer has been embossed using the Stripes and Splatters 3D Embossing Folder,

Check out those gold foil accents from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack. It’s a perfect match!

The sentiment is punched using the Timeless Punch, with a fabulous loop of Sheer Real Read ribbon behand.

To anchor the wreath to the card use some Gold Simply Elegant Trim & Satin Shimmer Ribbon

Voila!

I had great fun making these cards and I would love to know what you think? So please do leave me a comment below.
