Welcome to this months Stampin’ for Christmas Blog hop. We our a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world sharing Christmas card making and papercraft ideas using Stampin’ Up! Supplies. This month I am using my Tidings & Trimmings to create a simple star aperture Christmas card. What’s more it’s really easy to replicate when you are into a bulk Christmas card making session.
Pretty Star Aperture Christmas Card
Today I am sharing a bright and jolly Christmas card made with the wonderful Tidings and Trimmings Stamp Set.
Its such a pretty stamp set and I did promise I would be back to use those wonderful Christmas Trimmings Dies that you can purchase as a bundle for a 10% saving.
Introducing Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper
When I want to make lots of cards, I usually turn to our fabulous Designer Series papers to add pattern and layers.
At 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm), it’s sized just right for card fronts. Each sheet is double-sided for twice the options. One side has seasonal designs; the other has all-occasion basic designs. So if you have any left over after the festive season, you can use the basic designs for any other projects you want, such as more cards or how about accents on scrapbook pages.
The best bit is this pack is included in this months Designer Series Paper Sale, where you save 15% on some the most popular designs in the Annual Catalogue.
pretty Star aperture Christmas Card
I wanted to create an aperture card that was not too difficult to mass produce and this layout really fits the bill.
The lattice star is really all you need to make your project shine, especially when combined with the beautiful Ombre Speciality Papers.
You may have spotted the sheer red ribbon which is a returning favourite product from last years Mini catalogue and is available to order from the 3rd August and found in the new July to December Mini Catalogue.
How to Make this Star Aperture Christmas Card
- Add Layer 1 to the base card using glue
- Cut out the aperture using the largest layering circle die.
- Wrap some ribbon around the front of the card and tie a bow
- Add a little glue dot under the bow to keep the ribbon secure.
- Add the Internal Layer 1 to the inside of the card with glue
- Emboss the Internal Layer 2 using the Hammered Metal Embossing folder and add to the inside of the card
- Stamp three small stars in Poppy Parade around the edge of the circle.
- Add some foam adhesive sheet to the back of a piece of Poppy Parade Ombre Speciality Paper & cut out the lattice star
- Adhere to the centre of the aperture
- Stamp the sentiment, trim and add to the card
- Finish with some red rhinestone basic jewels

Pretty Star Aperture Christmas Card
Much as I love the jolly, bright card above, by changing a few elements the card becomes soft and elegant
Using soft greens and gold really changes up the dynamics of the card.
Voila!
I had great fun making these cards and I would love to know what you think? So please do leave me a comment below.
