Welcome to the Stamp Impressions Europe Blog Hop!
I’m delighted to be joining the team again this month, and this time we’re taking inspiration from a fabulous Sketch Challenge. I always enjoy working with sketches because they provide the perfect starting point while still leaving plenty of room for creativity and personal interpretation..

Here’s the card I created inspired by this month’s sketch:

🌼 Sending Lots of Sunshine Card 🌼
✨ The Inspiration
The moment I saw the sketch, I was drawn to the hexagonal focal element and knew I wanted to make that the star of my design.
I interpreted the shape into a large circle using layered die-cut elements from Spotlight on Nature & Springtime scene dies, creating a decorative frame that adds depth and interest to the card front. The circular shape naturally draws your eye to the sentiment while providing the perfect backdrop for a cluster of flowers and foliage.
To keep the design feeling light and cheerful, I chose a soft polka-dot Designer Series Paper for the background and paired it with warm peach, coral, and yellow tones in the floral elements. The contrast of the bold black foliage against the softer colours helps everything pop while maintaining a fresh, modern feel.
The sentiment, “Sending Lots of Sunshine,” felt like the perfect finishing touch for such a bright and uplifting design.
✂️ How I Made It
I started with a panel of Designer Series Paper on a Thick Basic White card base and used the sketch as the foundation for my layout.
The decorative circular elements are layered behind the sentiment to replicate the focal feature from the sketch and add dimension to the card front. I then die cut the floral images from the DSP before arranging them around the circle to create movement and balance.
The foliage pieces were tucked behind the flowers to frame the focal point, while a lose bow of Linen Thread added softness and texture. Finally, I finished the card with coordinating pearl embellishments to bring everything together.
One of the things I love most about sketches is how versatile they are. Even when everyone starts with the same layout, the finished projects can look completely different—and that’s what makes these challenges so much fun!
Voila!

This card came together beautifully, and I love how the combination of circles, florals, and bright colours creates such a happy, sunshine-filled design.
If you’d like to learn more about this project or any of the products used, please do get in touch—I’m always happy to help. I also go live on Facebook every Monday and Wednesday at 11:00am UTC+1 (BST) sharing cardmaking tips, techniques, and inspiration.
