This month we are sharing projects which are anything but a card. I decided to create a lovely gift box with a coordinating gift bag , which you can see how to make in our monthly tutorial.

Perennial Lavender gift box

I have just got back from my winter travels. One of the hotels we stayed in offered a turn down service each evening and we would receive a cute little chocolate. Now many of you will know, that I am not that keen on chocolate. I would rather have a big bag of sweeties any day!!!

So what to do with my surplus confection? It just had to be a made to measure box using the fabulous Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper, which matched the colours perfectly.

The box has a sleeve cover and both elements are super easy to make. The base in Gorgeous Grape card and the sleeve is made in Fresh Freesia card and decorated with the pretty DSP. You can find the measurements below.

Perennial Lavender gift box – Measurements

  • Base (Gorgeous Grape): 14.0 cm x 14.0 cm
  • Sleeve (Fresh Freesia): 18.0 cm x 6.2 cm
  • Layer 1 ( Perennial Lavender DSP): CUT 1 5.7 cm x 5.7 cm CUT 4 5.7 cm x 1.6 cm
  • Flowers (Basic White); scraps

Perennial Lavender gift box – Basic instructions

  • Take the base card and score at 2.5 cm and 5.0 cm on each side
  • Cut out the tabs as shown above. Fold, burnish and glue together to the form a tray
  • Take the piece of Fresh Freesia and score at 6.1 cm, 8,2 cm, 14.3 cm & 16.4 cm
  • Glue to form a sleeve
  • Add DSP with glue to the box
  • Die cut two sprigs of lavender and 1 sprig of leaves
  • Colour using blending brushes and attach to the front of the box using mini glue dots

Voila!
