This month we are creating Birthday cards. I wanted to utilise some of the pretty Christmas papers that I hadn’t had chance to use as yet.

The Tartan Foils from the Designer Series Paper Special Release caught my eye. I couldn’t resist pairing it with one of my favourite florals from the Annual Catalogue….. Artistically Inked.

Pretty Artistically Inked Slash Card

This card was such fun to make in elegant greys, pinks and a sprinkle of Dazzle. I was inspired by a sketch layout that I saw ages ago. It was a perfect opportunity to get ahead with my batch card making…… as you will see!!

The base is Pebbled Path card with a layer of Tartan Foil of the same colour. The next layer of Smoky Slate has the middle section cut out to create the slash. Next emboss with the Distressed Tile Effect 3D Embossing Folder. you can find the measurements to make this card in this months tutorial bundle.

Edge the embossed layer with some strips of Silver More Dazzle card to frame the slash/aperture.

The flowers are stamped in Berry Burst and Bubble Bath ink with the leaves in Pebbled Path Ink.

Finally here is one final idea for using the offcut pieces. For these cards I used the large die from the bundle to cut a piece of Melon Mambo Foil backed with adhesive sheet. Then mounted it onto a piece of Shimmer Card. Can you tell I had lots of fun with this sketch layout.

Voila!
