How to Use your Pretty Patterned Papers – Stamp Impressions Blog Hop

Nov 19, 2023 | Blog Hop, Christmas, Colouring, Techniques

Hello there Crafty friends. Welcome to this month’s Stamp Impressions Europe Blog Hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around Europe and we will be sharing some wonderful ideas based around a monthly theme. This month we have a wonderful challenge to share our Pretty Patterned Papers & I am very excited to share my Joy of Noel Slash Card

Do you buy pretty patterned papers and then set them to one side as they are too pretty to cut into? I actually have customers who deliberately buy two packs of paper. One to cut into & one to admire and stroke!!!!

I say its a shame to not let those pretty papers be incorporated into a project and shine! So today I am sharing one of my favourite ways to showcase some of those ‘ too good to cut’ papers!

Joy of Noel Slash Card

This week I have been concentrating on finishing up my Christmas Cards so I can start to write them next week! Are you done yet? No? Then why not try out this highly addictive card layout and you can have a pile of cards ready in no time!

This card combines two of my favourite’s ….. colouring and sparkle|!!

  • Make the slash by removing a section of the card layer
  • Add some extra bling with some thin strips of Glimmer card
  • Don’t have the exact match? Do as I did here, and colour some silver or Gold Glimmer card with a coordinating Stamping Blends. For this project I used a Dark Read Real Stampin’ Blend.
  • The Image has been stamped in Tuxedo Memento Ink and coloured with Stamping Blends
  • To add some extra sparkle use a little Wink of Stella Glitter pen on the leaves or add a highlight with a white gel pen.
  • Mount the leaves onto the panel using Dimensionals
  • Add a fussy cut sentiment which is heat embossed in White on a scrap of Basic Black card
  • Make your own matching bow by colouring your ribbon with a Stampin Blend.
  • Finish with some Iridescent Adhesive-backed dots

Voila!

I so enjoyed making this card and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.

If you would like to know more about any of my projects please do get in contact and I would be happy to help you. I go live on Facebook every Monday and Wednesday at 11.00 am UTC +1 (BST) showing lots of cardmaking tips and tricks based around a particular Stamp Set or Bundle.
