Aug 8, 2023 | Birthdays, Blog Hop, Card Ideas, Techniques

Welcome to our Tech 4 Stampers blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world who are members of the Tech 4 Stampers Academy run by the amazing Louise Sims. Her Website School and Tech Academy helps Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators navigate their way around the world of websites and social media. Now many of us have our websites up and running, a blog hop seemed the next logical step. This month the theme is Vellum, and I am pleased to share project showing how to use patterned Vellum Basics on your cards.

Timeless Arrangement Birthday Cards

I have been having lots of fun playing with the Timeless Arrangement bundle and my scrap bags recently. The dies that or part of the bundle have these amazing stacking floral elements which you can use to create the card below! Well I go off on a tangent because today is all about vellum!! oops

Keep reading I will get there I promise!

The colour combo was inspired by a bunch of towels that I washed this week. Honestly I know I sound a bit crazy, but I get really inspired by fabrics and wallpaper colours!

Patterned Vellum Basics

Vellum is a perfect way to add soft layers and accents to you papercraft projects.

The base card is Basic Black and to make those beautiful dies cuts really pop I added a piece of the stunning Vellum Basic Speciality Papers. This leaf pattern is just perfect as a simple layer to soften the black but not make the whole card feel too busy. The papers also have a subtle strip and a cute spot design.

The main issue with vellum is because it is translucent you have to be careful with which adhesive you chose s it mat wrinkle the vellum or show through!! I used some Multipurpose Glue in the middle where it would be hidden by the floral wreath and then added a double wrap of stitched ribbon to secure the edges at both sides

Voila!

I so enjoyed making this card and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.

If you would like to know more about any of my projects please do get in contact and I would be happy to help you

So now it’s time to hop around the rest of the wonderful demonstrators blogs to see some more inspiration

Beautiful card Sara. The colours really pop and the vellum softens the black.

Lovely cards, Sarah – I know it’s all about vellum, but really like the way you’ve used the floral scraps! tfs.
