Aug 19, 2023 | Blog Hop, Christmas, Simple Stamping

Welcome to our monthly Casually Crafting Blog Hop and my Elegant Trucking Along Christmas Card

Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop

The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. From time-to-time, we may also include a project that is stepped-up for the added wow-factor

We will be sharing our ideas on the 3rd Saturday of each month and you can hop around the group and gather loads of inspiration. So grab yourself a cup of your favourite beverage, sit back & enjoy the hop!

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

This month we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge. Have you tried one? Pick a line horizontally, vertically or diagonally and use those elements to make your project. Don’t worry you can use other products, but these challenges are great for kickstarting a crafting session.

I chose to use the diagonal top left to bottom right : All Things round – Red – Foliage & I can’t wait to see what the other designers have chosen.

Trucking Along

This week I have been using the Trucking Along Stamp. You can see how I made this card and a number of other projects with this Bundle on my Facebook lives. Part 1 & Part 2!

It’s part of the latest Online Exclusives release and as the title suggests is only available to view online!

Elegant Trucking Along Christmas Card

Is it too early to mention Christmas yet? I don’t know about you, but I love making all my Christmas cards. The big trap I always fall into is forgetting how long it takes to complete the whole task so my cards are ready to post. I mean how does it take so long to write inside, address them and finally add postage. So I always run out of time and end up battling with the posting deadlines and losing all my festive spirit

This year I will be better …… fingers crossed

To this end I have already printed off half of my address labels with the idea to have the first batch complete & ready to post by the end of September. Now I just have to make the cards!

This card is lots of fun and is simple to make. Great for bulk card making.

The stamp set contains has all the elements needed to complete the scene, No colouring, fussy cutting or embellishments required!! Yay!

How to Make This Elegant Trucking Along Christmas Card

  • The trucking image is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to position the image
  • Stamp the following in the same Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
    • Stamp the ground so it is just touching the bottom of the tyres
    • Stamp the types and wheel centres
    • Stamp the sentiment
    • Finally add the outline of the Christmas tree on the back of the truck
  • Take the infill stamp for the truck and very gently tap it onto the Real Red ink before stamping (make sure the window area does not contain any ink)
  • Repeat the same process with the Tree infill stamp and some Shaded Spruce Ink
  • Layer onto another piece of Basic White card and then onto a Real Red card base

You can add embellishments, but I really like the simple elegance of the card just as it is.

Voila!

I had great fun making this card. So, please do leave me a comment, letting me know what you think.

If you would like to know more about any of my projects please do get in contact and I would be happy to help you

So now it’s time to hop around the rest of the wonderful demonstrators blogs to see some more inspiration
