Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

This month the theme is Fun Fold cards and I have chosen to make a particular favourite…. a twisted easel shape!

It’s surprising easy to make and features just one stamped image………. the sentiment

Favored Flowers Twisted Easel Card

I must confess I make many many cards, and most of them are birthdays or thank you cards. So its always helpful to have a few special occasion cards to hand and this card certainly fits the bill!

** Please note the DSP name is the American spelling of favoured not a typo

How To Make A Twisted Easel Card

A twisted easel card is relatively easy to construct if you have a trimmer or scoreboard

• Create the card base (using the measurements below) and then score from the top right hand side of the card (open edge) towards the bottom left hand side to the card (bottom the the fold)
• Mountain fold and burnish the fold
• Decorate the card
• Lastly, you need to create a raised ‘anchor’ on the inside of the card where you need the easel to ‘stand’

The decoration for this card was super easy as all the floral images were fussy cut from the Favored Flowers DSP.

Yes, I do love fussy cutting & yes I was rubbish at first, but practice, patience & a little perseverance means I now find it super relaxing and very mindful. This is despite suffering from arthritis.

Chose one of the smaller floral images for the easel stand and pop it up on two Stampin Dimensionals so the card doesn’t collapse.

Measurements Favored Flowers Twisted Easel Card

• Base Card: Blackberry Bliss – 28.0 cm by 14.0 cm score at 14.0 cm
• First Layers: Favored Flowers DSP- CUT 2 13.5 cm by 13.5 cm (then cut one in half from the top right to bottom left to create two triangles)
• Flowers : Favored Flowers DSP – CUT 1 Double flower, 1 single flower & one small flower
• Sentiment: Basic White – 12.0 cm by 2.5 cm
• Inner : Basic White – 13.5 cm by 13.5 cm (then cut in half from the top right to bottom left to create two triangles)
