Thank you for joining us for this wonderful “By Royal Appointment Guest Blog” post. This is something we will be doing every Monday and each week we will be welcoming a different designer from our amazing team, the Royal Stampers. So this week our guest designer is the wonderful Deb from PDQ Cards A huge thank you to her for this project. All the details can be found below which will also link to PDQ Card‘s website so you can look at other beautiful creations by Deb.
Enjoy the amazing creativity from Deb and if you have any questions, please drop us a message.
Sometimes you are asked to make a card for which a stamp set just doesn’t exist or fit in exactly with what you need for the occasion. It’s my eldest’s birthday and unsurprisingly she knew exactly what she wanted – a gecko card.
After searching through the various Stampin’ Up! sets I had available I decided nothing fit the bill. Back to the drawing (or in my case ‘stamping’) board.
The latest edition to our busy household is a Lavender Morph leopard gecko called Sklya. I’ve learnt a lot about leopard geckos in the last 4 weeks – mostly that they aren’t as scary as I first thought!
Her beautiful colouring inspired me to try recreating it as a background using the sponge daubers and several ink pads. What do you think? A simple ribbon and birthday message embossed in silver to match the silver layer finish this card off neatly.
I really enjoyed creating this bespoke background – it was so simple to do and really is a unique card for my unique daughter!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this fabulous project from Deb and if you have any questions, please do get in touch!
Next week our lovely Red Swan Lola is our official guest blogger, so don’t forget to check in.
