Free as a Bird shadow box recycling project
I fell in love with the new Storage by Stampin Up! as soon as I saw it. White, modular, stackable and infinitely configurable as my mood takes me. Whats not to like?
So I bought everything I needed to hold all my Inks, markers and re inkers. That’s a lot of boxes!! I have always tried to be pretty environmentally aware and try to follow the mantra of recycle, reduce & reuse. Each element is boxed in sustainable brown card board which I have been using for holding work in progress or to protect and repackage customer and team gifts. The internal foam protecting the units really had me scratching my head………. until I had one of those light bulb moments….. literally
Have you seen the new adorable Free as a bird must have stamp set which is in the new catalogue ? its available from the 4th June and I just couldn’t resist using it in my project. It looks fabulous in the sunlight. What do you think?
I decided to create the light box using mossy Meadow & the aperture was created using the stitched nested label dies. You can grab these dies with the stamp set from Tuesday as a bundle and save 10%! FAB-U-LOUS. I added some vellum coloured with blends behind the aperture.
The foam protection protects the box from getting squashed, holds some tiny Micro Rice Wire Copper Fairy Lights and diffuses the light to make it more even. So even in the dark it looks real pretty!
Carrying on with the blends I coloured all of the stamped images and added them to the front. How cute do they look? The sentiment is also from the same set and stamped onto a piece of Petal pink card stock. That cute lace poking out is the new scalloped lace trim from the same suite and is adorable.
I think it looks really pretty and so did all my attendees at my Summer Stampin’ school yesterday.
So don’t forget
