Hello there Crafty friends. Welcome to this month’s Stamp Impressions Europe Blog Hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around Europe and we will be sharing some wonderful ideas based around a monthly theme. This month we have a wonderful colour challenge & I am delighted to share my Joseph’s Coat Technique Celebration Card
This month we are using a beautiful colour combination & I took some inspiration from the photo above for my card……
Joseph’s Coat Technique Celebration Card
As you may have noticed, my Cheerful Daisies Bundle seems to have taken root on my craft desk!! However I am so pleased with the result I make no apologies!! I will let you decide….
Have you heard of the Joseph’s Coat Technique?
This technique combines two of my favourite’s ….. heat embossing & bright colours
- Add a selection of bright colours to your card layer using a blending brush – TIP try to cover all of paper for maximum effect.
- Ensure the inks are dry by setting with a heat tool.
- Using a stamp with lots of solid areas, heat emboss over the colours using Versamark and clear embossing powder.
- Finally add a strong colour over the top of the card using a blending brush or by wiping the ink paper across the paper
- Wipe any excess ink away using a piece of kitchen towel.
For this card I used the large solid image from the Cheerful Daisy Stamp Set. It sits beautifully over the pretty Melon Mambo/Flirty Flamingo & Orchid Oasis background
Finally I wiped the Starry sky ink across the card and love that it left areas of streaks for extra contract and texture. However you could always make it a solid colour by continuing adding ink.
The base card is in Starry Sky card with a mat layer of Flirty Flamingo card.
Wrap a couple of loops of Orchid Oasis Woven Metallic Ribbon before adding the fabulous double layered die cut celebrate sentiment in More Dazzle & Vellum. So pretty and of course sparkly!!
Finish with some Rhinestones
Voila!
I so enjoyed making this card and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.
If you would like to know more about any of my projects please do get in contact and I would be happy to help you. I go live on Facebook every Monday and Wednesday at 11.00 am UTC +1 (BST) showing lots of cardmaking tips and tricks
