Welcome to another Crafty Collaborators blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. Each month we will be showcasing some of the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. This is our monthly Share it Sunday Blog Hop, where we will be sharing a recent project. I am delighted to share my garden gate split Birthday card that I made on this weeks Connect-Craft-Chat Facebook live.
What is a split Card?
A standard card is simply a piece of card folded in half, but I love to change it up sometimes and this technique is such a simple way to add interest to your card making
Simply put a split card is where you create splits in the main body of the card base and hold it together with a simple image or sentiment.
Garden Gate Split Birthday Card
I have seen a number of split cards on social media and wanted to put my own spin on this technique during this weeks Connect-Craft-Chat Facebook live
I took inspiration from a trio of spring fresh colours
The front of the card has been cut into 5 x 1.5 cm strips
The strip are placed 0.5 cm apart and joined by 3 x 1.2 cm strips and one cross strut, so one its finished it looks just like a garden gate
The images are from the Petal Park Stamp set and I have added additional single blooms to add some height
The sentiment has been heat embossed in White onto scarps of Basic White card and added with Stampin Dimensionals
Finish with 2021-23 In-Color Matte Decorative Dots and some Loose Flowers Flourishes
Don’t forget you can see exactly have I made this card on about 37.30 minutes into the replay

Basic Split Card Alternative
I also made a very simple diagonal split card first on my Facebook live and I wanted to share it with you!
Using the Queen Bee Stamp set instead shows how you can really use any medium/large image for this technique. I just love it!
Voila!
