Welcome to the Crafty Collaborations blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. We love showcasing the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. Today we are celebrating Yom Kippur and I am thrilled to share my simple Yom Kippur card
What is Yom Kippur?
Yom Kippur means Day of Atonement. It is the most sacred and solemn day in the Jewish calendar.
Yom Kippur is a day to reflect on the past year and ask God’s forgiveness for any sins. Jews do not work or go to school on this day
Unlike Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish faith mark the day of Yom Kippur by fasting for 25 hours. They also wear white and they don’t wear make-up, perfume, or leather shoes. The most important part of Yom Kippur is the time spent in the synagogue. Even Jews who do not go to the synagogue very much will go on Yom Kippur. The day is spent in continuous prayer.
Yom Kippur Cards
I decided to use a variety of different stamp sets to create a simple black and gold design.
Mixing up different gold textures really brighten up this Black car
The lovely little gold speckles are Gilded Leafing
The stars have been die cut in Distressed Gold Speciality Paper
When you don’t quite have the right sentiment, then the Alphabest Bundle is you nest friend. You can construct any words you like and for this card the letters have been stamped in Versamark & heat embossed in gold on some scraps of black before being punch out and mounted on the card using Stamping Dimensionals
