Welcome to another Crafty Collaborators blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. Each month we will be showcasing some of the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. Today’s Monthly hop is called Share it Sunday, where we will be sharing a recent project. I want to share with you a set of three watercolour cards, that I made a at a recent team gathering.
Brightest Beauty
We try to gather as a team as often as we can, and tend to have a monthly meeting online and an in person event
This month our theme was ‘Ink that Stamp set’ – we all brought a stamp set that had not yet been used and we all took it in turns to come up with a card design to inspire the owner of the sets. it was enormous fun and a great way to engage our creativity.
One of stamp sets was the Brightest Beauty and at first glance it looks like a one trick pony, but as you can see its far from that!
The main image is a branch of Acacia Dealbata, also known as mimosa, silver wattle or blue wattle, depending which part of the world you hail from. The flowers are usually yellow varying from a pale lemon to a really deep sunflower, depending on the climate and soil conditions. How do I know so much? Well I have had two in my garden over the years, including a beautiful purple leafed one, that I absolutely adore.

Creating water colour backgrounds are a fun way to add interest to your cards and each one turns out differently, which just adds to the uniqueness of your cards
For these cards I chose to keep the palette simple and far away from the traditional yellows and greens of the Acacia:
Each card has a different style of watercolour background and technique with the stamp set. Hope you like them.
watercolour backgrounds with Brightest Beauty – Stripes
This card was so quick and simple to make.
The stripes have been added to damp Fluid 100 Watercolor using water painters letting the lines of ink merge and run al little
The image has been stamped in Starry Sky and coloured with a light Fresh Freesia Stampin Blend , before adding highlights to the flowers with spots of the Stampin Blend Colour Lifter.
The card has one of the coordinating sentiments from the Stamp set, cut out using a coordinating label die. How cute is the detail?
Finished with a loop of Open Weave ribbon and some Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels

The background for this next card has been ‘smooshed’ in ink to create a layered effect with lots of small details.
Once dry the piece was divided into four sections and adhered to a piece of Fresh Freesia card.
This time the Acacia has been stamped onto Fresh Freesia Cardstock, before adding the second part of the two step stamp – the flowers!
Small highlights have been added with the embossing end of the Take your pick tool dipped in some White Craft Stampin Ink Refill.
Finished with a loop of Metallic Woven ribbon and some Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels
watercolour backgrounds with Brightest Beauty – Happy Birthday
I wanted to step away from the floral image for the next card
The ‘smooshed’ and splattered water coloured background has been stamped and heat embossed with the abstract triangle image and makes quite a statement!
The sentiments are from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set
Finished with a double loop of Metallic Woven ribbon and some Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels
Voila!
