How To Make Three Watercolour Slimline Cards – Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop

May 10, 2022 | All Occasions, Blog Hop

Welcome to our Tech 4 Stampers blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from around the world who are part of a Tech Academy run by the amazing Louise Sims. Her Website School and Tech Academy helps Stampin Up Demonstrators navigate their way around the world of websites and social media. Now many of us have our websites up and running, a blog hop seemed the next logical step. This month the theme is FRIENDSHIP, and never one to do things by halves (LOL) I thought it would be fun to share my three watercolour slimline cards.

I love crafty playdates and last Friday I had a long overdue zoom catch up with a fellow demo Lizzie Bennett. Its a fun way to connect, craft & chat whilst still having access to all of your stash. We challenged ourselves to use a bundle we had not really used and we chose the wonderful Slim Sayings Bundle which can be found on page 52 of the Jan to Jun Mini Catalogue.

I chose to use the pretty middle eastern tiled die as my centre piece for my cards

Three Watercolour Slimline Cards

I took my inspiration from the colour challenge over at the Global Design Project #341. sadly I didn’t get chance to post the cards in time to enter, but that doesn’t matter I still had fun making them!

The card base is slightly narrower than I would normally make (21.0cm by 18.0cm, scored at 9.0 cm) so I could use the beautiful slimline envelopes

The the three pieces of watercolour paper have been washed with the challenge colours: Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya & Pool Party.

Once dry I attached some of the adhesive sheet to the back of paper before die cutting each piece with the slimline die

The frame of each die cut was then attached to a piece of Calypso Coral card and then the fun really begins!

The pieces were then mixed up to create a beautiful tri coloured tile effect. Its so effective and something I most definitely going to try again.

To finish I wrapped some Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and Pale Papaya Open Weave ribbon around the piece & tied a luxurious bow. The sentiment taken from the bundle stamp set has been heat embossed in White onto Calypso Coral Card and trimmed added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Don’t forget those lines slimline envelopes – They are just so pretty
