Welcome to our monthly Casually Crafting Blog Hop! and my Mirror Technique Double Hedgehog Card
Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop
The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. From time-to-time, we may also include a project that is stepped-up for the added wow-factor
We will be sharing our ideas on the 3rd Saturday of each month and you can hop around the group and gather loads of inspiration. So grab yourself a cup of your favourite beverage, sit back & enjoy the hop!
Tic Tac Toe Challenge
This month we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge. Have you tried one? Pick a line horizontally, vertically or diagonally and use those elements to make your project. Don’t worry you can use other products, but these challenges are great for kickstarting your crafting session.
For my inspiration I chose to use the left three boxes:
- Animals
- Spots
- Red
Happy Hedgehogs stamp set
Today I am using Happy Hedgehogs Stamp set. A charming set of whimsical Hedgehog Photopolymer stamps, which are available from the Jan to Jun Mini Catalogue. It has already established itself as a firm favourite.
It’s also available as a bundle with a coordinating super sweet Hedgehog Builder punch.
I have been using it to make projects whilst I am away in the Caribbean with my mini crafting stash. I still have lots of ideas with this set, so do check back in for more inspiration.
Mirror Technique Double Hedgehog Card
Sometimes its fun to revisit an old technique you haven’t used for a while and this is such a quick and simple way to get more form your stamp sets.
All you need is a silicon mat, although using the Stamparatus can really help achieve some perfect positioning.
How to Make a Mirror Technique Double Hedgehog Card
- Take the Stamparatus and position the Hedgehog stamp so that it is just off the centre of the Layer 3 piece of Basic white Card
- Place your Silicon Craft Mat inside the Stamaratus and stamp the image in Early Expresso Ink
- Gently add the Layer 3 piece of card on top of the silicon mat and stamp the image again ( you don’t need to use ink, because you are transferring the ink from the silicon mat to the card. This creates your mirror image on the underside of the piece of card.
- Remove the piece of card, turn over and stamp your normal image next to the reverse image hedgehog.
- Colour your image with Watercolour pencils
- Assemble the card
- Finish with some Gilded Gems.
