Welcome to our monthly Casually Crafting Blog Hop! and my Eden’s Garden Sketch Card.

Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop

The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. From time-to-time, we may also include a project that is stepped-up for the added wow-factor

We will be sharing our ideas on the 3rd Saturday of each month and you can hop around the group and gather loads of inspiration. So grab yourself a cup of your favourite beverage, sit back & enjoy the hop!

Sketch Challenge

This month we have a Sketch challenge. I do love a sketch. It gives me starting point to jump start my creativity when I might be struggling with my mojo.

Eden’s Garden Sketch Card

I just looking at this sketch when my latest order arrived from Stampin’ Up! Inside was my pre- order of the early release products from the January–June 2022 Mini Catalogue—a bundle of stamps and dies that are blooming with beauty and bounty. Plus, exclusive products you can’t uncover anywhere else—a pack of paper patterned with green and gold, a set of specialty sheets for gift-giving and textured touches, and a sparkling set of gleaming gems!

What’s it called I hear you say?

Eden’s Garden. According to the release notes it’s a place of paradise. Filled with fruitful and flourishing foliage, stillness and serenity, and an air of mystery, Eden is an ethereal utopia!

To me it’s a gorgeous collection of foliage and gold foiled papers with coordinating stamps and dies. As you will see they work perfectly with the in- colours Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent

So how about a sneak peak?

The card has remained true to the sketch layout with the beautiful Designer series paper taking centre stage.

Eden’s Garden Sketch Card – Measurements

  • Base: Evening Evergreen– 29.7 cm by 10.5 cm scored and burnished at 14.9 cm
  • First Layer: Ever Eden Speciality Designer Series Paper – 14.3 cm by 10.0 cm

  • Third Layer: Gold Foil – 7.6 cm by 4.6 cm CUT TWO
  • Fourth Layer: Evening Evergreen – 7.3 cm by 4.3 cm CUT TWO

  • Sentiment: Basic White scrap ( stamped in Soft Succulent and fussy cut)
  • Inside: Basic White – 13.8 cm x 9.5 cm

Add some Evening Evergreen Open Weave ribbon around the second Layer in a bow before adhering to the card

Finish with some of the new Garden Gems from the suite

Eden’s Garden Sketch Card – stepped up

I couldn’t resist stepping up the card by making an alternate incorporating the dies

Add an additional layer of embossed gold foil (14.5 cm by 10.0 cm).

Die cut the first layer in the middle with the edging die. to create a pretty central peeking panel of gold foil

Each layer is die cut using a mix of the new Eden and the Layering Rectangle Dies.

The sentiment has been stamped onto a piece of Basic White which has been lightly stamped with one of the leaf stamps.

Finish with a couple of Garden Gems

Voila!

I had great fun making this card. So, please do leave me a comment, letting me know what you think.

If you would like to know more about any of my projects please do get in contact and I would be happy to help you

So now it’s time to hop around the rest of the wonderful demonstrators blogs to see some more inspiration
