Baby Wipe technique Autumn Leaves card – Stamp Impressions Blog Hop

Sep 19, 2021 | All Occasions, Blog Hop

Hello there Crafty friends. Welcome to this month’s Stamp Impressions Europe blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around Europe and we will be sharing some wonderful ideas based around a monthly theme. This month we have a colour challenge , so I thought I would have some fun & create some Baby Wipe Technique Autumn Leaves card.

Baby Wipe Technique

Have you tried this technique before? Its lots of fun but can get a little messy!

I haven’t played with the baby wipe technique for a while but its a perfect choice for these colours.

Take a couple of baby wipes and fold into quarters to form your own pad.

Drop your choice of re-inkers onto the pad. In this case I created three stripes in Merry Merlot, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive

TIP: leave a little space between each colour to allow the colour to spread a little, but not get too ‘muddy’

Take you stamp and tap in the ink a few times slightly moving the stamp up and down slightly so all of the image is ‘ink up’

Stamp onto your card as usual. It’s such and effective technique and great for batch stamping images and large sentiments.

Beauty of Tomorrow

I adore this pretty Stamp set and I was particularly drawn to the changing leaves sentiment, but have been enjoying making a variety of projects with this bundle. Oh yes! There are a set of coordinating dies to go with this suite.

I made this card as part of a mystery event at our recent monthly team gathering. I love sending a little packet of card elements and seeing what everyone comes up with. We share our makes during the session. No cards are ever alike and the creativity is astounding.

The flower on the base card has been stamped with Versamark. The patterned paper from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper works perfectly with this colour way. Rich and vibrant!

Check out those pretty banners. They have been embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and then wipe a tiny smear of multi-purpose glue across the raised areas. Add some gilding flakes and then I dabbed some coordinating blends on a few spots to give it a variegated effect. Did you know that blending Light Cherry Cobbler and Soft suede gives you Merry Merlot!!! Yay

Alternate Autumn Leaves Cards

I made a couple of samples using these elements & here is my other version. I added a few extra colours for the leaves and swapped out the Old Olive for some Soft succulent which gives a wonderful Khaki canvas look.

The banner was used for the sentiment on this version, but the rest of the layout is pretty similar. Well, I changed the embellishments too, but that’s all fair!

Voila!

I so enjoyed making these cards and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.

If you would like to know more about any of my projects please do get in contact and I would be happy to help you. I go live on Facebook every Monday and Wednesday at 11.00 am UTC +1 (BST) showing lots of cardmaking tips and tricks
