Jun 19, 2021 | All Occasions, Blog Hop, Step by step

Welcome to our monthly Casually Crafting Blog Hop! and my pretty thinking of you Quiet Meadow Card.

Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop

The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. From time-to-time, we may also include a project that is stepped-up for the added wow-factor

We will be sharing our ideas on the 3rd Saturday of each month and you can hop around the group and gather loads of inspiration. So grab yourself a cup of your favourite beverage, sit back & enjoy the hop!

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

This month we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge. I haven’t take part in one of these for ages and I had great fun putting it together. Fancy having a go? Pick a line horizontally, vertically or diagonally and use those elements to make your project. Don’t worry you can use other products, but these challenges are great for kickstarting your crafting session.

So I chose to use the the top three boxes:

  • Use a punch
  • Very Vanilla Card
  • Linen Thread

Quiet Meadow

So let me introduce you to the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set

Flowers, background patterns, and greetings—you’ll find all these things in the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. Stamp them all together for perfect projects! Choose one greeting, flower, and pattern or bring several of them together for a collage effect.

Thinking of you Quiet Meadow

The Quiet Stamp Set makes wonderful botanical and vintage cards and works perfectly with the challenge items. As usual, once I started the ideas just started to flow! So today I have three different cards for you.

How to create a thinking of you quiet meadow card

  • Take the piece of Very Vanilla ( Layer 2) and stamp the flowers & background words in Sahara Sand Ink
  • Add some splatters in Blushing Bride
  • Colour the image using watercolour pencils.
  • Distress the edges of the card and repeat for the first layer
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card and punch out
  • Add a little ink around the edge of the Very Vanilla pieces using a Blending Brush
  • Wrap some linen thread around the card and tie in a bow.
  • Attach the punched sentiment with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with some Rhinestones.

Thinking of you Quiet Meadow Card Measurements

  • Base: Sahara Sand – 29.7 cm by 10.5 cm scored and burnished at 14.9 cm
  • First layer: Sahara Sand – 14.5 cm by 10.2cm
  • Second Layer: Very Vanilla – 13.9 cm by 9.6 cm
  • Sentiment : Very Vanilla – scrap

Thinking of you Quiet Meadow Card – Alternative

I make a second card and changed the colours and layout a little.

Use So Saffron for the First layer & Sahara Sand for the second layer.

Stamp the image twice and colour with watercolour pencils. This time use a blender pen to add extra shading under each flower. Finally colour the Rhinestones with a Daffodil Delight Stampin Blend.

Thinking of you Quiet Meadow Card – Stepped UP

For the final card I used the same sized layers, bu this time stamped the image in Blackberry Bliss and Gorgeous Grape inks onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. to soften it down a little add a little highland Heather Ink to the card using a blending Brush

The sentiment is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink and fussy cut and mounted onto the card using Dimentionals.

Finally the card has been finishd with Rhinestones coloured with a Blackberry bliss Stampin Blend

Voila!

I had great fun making this card. So, please do leave me a comment, letting me know what you think.
