Now this month we have chosen wonderful Expressions in ink Speciality Designer Series Paper. Now the designs in this pack are have all been created from some original art work using alcohol inks. So you get all of the texture and colour, but none of the mess!! There are some beautiful alcohol patterns on one side and the other has highlights of delicate gold foiling. so luxurious, yet bright and fresh. The papers form part of a huge Expressions in Ink suite of coordinating products . There are 2 each of 6 double sided designs in a useful 12″ x 12″ format giving 12 sheets.

I Love these papers, but didn’t want to cover them up too much so decided on a set of pretty birthday cards using just one sheet of the paper.

You can make 6 card layers up to 14.3 by 10.0 cm from just one sheet of 12″ by 12″ paper & I chose the one bottom left on the layout above so I had plenty of white space to play with. I made all of these cards in just under 60 minutes so its great for a power hour of crafting. These cards will sit in my stash ready for next months birthdays.

I loved creating this simple layout, letting the speciality paper do all the work. The sentiment is from the wonderful Biggest Wish Stamp set, which I adore.

Each card has been made in a different colourway & the placement of the stamped image tweaked to suit the pattern of the papers underneath. These would make wonderful cards for the men in our lives. Which one do you prefer?

Stepped up Birthday cards from one sheet 12 x 12

Rather than make all six cards identical I decided to step two of the cards up by adding a simple vellum Brilliant Wings butterfly and a gold embossed sentiment. This makes for a more delicate card, but you still don’t lose the sight of those pretty papers!

I swapped out the gems for gold metallic pearls and rather than wrap the twine, this time a simple bow popped on with a mini glue dot.

For the final two cards I added a huge gold foil cut die from the coordinating Artistic dies from the suite. Isn’t it magnificent and has a real touch of opulence.
