Feb 28, 2021 | Birthdays, Blog Hop, Card Ideas

Welcome to another Crafty Collaborators blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. Each month we will be showcasing some of the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. Today’s Monthly hop is called Share it Sunday where we will be sharing a recent project. So I chose to share a St David’s Day Daffodil Wreath that I made this afternoon to pop on my front door.

Share it Sunday easy Card using Happiest of Birthdays from Stampin Up

Tomorrow (1st March) is St David’s Day and the weather in the UK is just so glorious right now. Spring has truly Sprung. My garden is springing into life and is full of Snowdrops, Daffodils and blossoms.

I used to make lots of paper flowers a few years ago, but it’s been a while since I tried any so I thought it would be fun to make a wreath using similar techniques with my Stampin’ Up! products.

It’s so easy when you have the fabulous Stampin Up! punches. I used the Perennial Flower punch to make my Daffodil base. It’s perfect for the job

Easy St David’s Day Daffodil Wreath

I had great fun making lots of different Daffodils and Narcissus using photographs that I found on Google as my inspiration.

To make each daffodil punch out two of the Perennial Flowers, then using a blend draw three lines on each petal to simulate the texture of the real daffodil petals. Glue both petals together and then shape using your bone folder.

For the trumpet I punched a 1 1/8″ scalloped circle (sadly now retired, but you could use the smallest layered circle die), and edged it with a Mango Melody Stampin Blend.

I then used the embossing Tool on the Take you Pick tool to shape the circle. You can also cut slits into the circle and glue them back together with an overlap to accentuate the trumpet shape.

The leaves are a mixture of hand cut slivers of Garden Green card and die cut leaves from the Wrapped Flowers Dies.

To complete the wreath I added some Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon. It looks stunning hanging from the front door. A little piece of Spring!

Voila!

I had great fun making this project and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.

Beautiful! I really should take my Christmas wreath down and replace it with something more seasonal – you’ve inspired me!

What a beautiful spring wreath. I love the daffodils. Sadly, we still have a foot of snow on the ground. But your project made me smile.
