Welcome to the Crafty Collaborations Butterfly Bouquet blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. We love showcasing the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. Today’s theme is use the newly released Butterfly Bouquet Collection. I truly went out of my comfort zone to create these romantic Watercolour Cards.

Butterfly Bouquet Collection

This Collection is comprised of the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and two Designer series papers.

I just love love love this gorgeous bundle that’s new this month, plus the best news is that it will available in the new annual catalogue that’s coming out in May! The stamp set features a single stamp of six different butterflies, which I actually cut apart to make six individual stamps (but didn’t trim any of the rubber off so I could still use them all together, and a coordinating set of dies. There’s one big die that cuts out all the stamped butterflies, and a set of doily style matching butterflies and texture dies. Wow!

Romantic Watercolour Cards

I decided to select a softer pastel palette of colours today to create a more romantic feel to the cards. Purple Posy, Coastal Cabana & Blushing Bride.

Romantic Watercolour Cards – Blushing Bride

Keeping the colours light and gentle is key to this card.

The base is a standard size of Blushing Bride. Layer one has been embossed with the Parisian Flourish 3DEF and adhered to the base with glue.

Next add a layer of vellum which has been die cut using the Oval frame from the Flowering Vine Dies.

Add a swoosh of the Blushing Bride Metallic ribbon with Mini Glue Dots.

For the image Stamp the butterflies in Versamark and heat emboss in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Die Cut and then watercolour with Blushing Bride ink using a Wink of Stella! Yep, you can use your ‘Wink’ to pick up ink and watercolour in sparkle! Yay! So soft & pretty.

Stamp the sentiment in Blushing Bride and use the Classic Label punch to create to shape. Add to the card with Mini Dimensionals.

To finish add Basic Pearls coloured with the Light Flirty Flamingo Blend.

Card Measurements

  • Card Base: Blushing Bride – 29.7cm by 10.5 cm score at 14.9 cm
  • First Layer: Blushing Bride – 13.9 cm by 9.5 cm
  • Second Layer: Vellum – 9.5 cm by 7.0 cm
  • Third Layer: Shimmery White – 8.0 cm by 8.0 cm
  • Scrap: Basic White

Romantic Watercolour Cards – Coastal Cabana

Identical process as above, but I swapped the papers and Inks for Coastal Cabana one of my favourites.

I switched the embossing folder to the Lace 3D and used the pretty Coastal Cabana slub ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Combo Pack. Finally the Pearls were coloured with a Light Bermuda Bay Stampin Blend. I love that everything coordinates so well!

Romantic Watercolour Cards – Purple Posy

For my final card I used one of the 19-21 In-colors, Purple Posy, perfect for the card & sadly retiring soon to make way for the 21-23 NEW In-colors which will be announced soon. I have not used this colour as much as I should and surely miss it once its gone! So if you like this or any of the other 19-21 In colours do grab them now before they go out of stock, which happens every year before the end of the catalogue.

This time switch to the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder & the pretty white and Purple coordinating ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Combo Pack. As there is no purple posy ink I used the Stampin Write marker for the water-colouring and sentiment. Easy peasy!
