Today I want to share with you one of the projects that I made on yesterday’s Online card and a cuppa using the amazing Joseph’s coat technique. If you missed it you can watch the event here.
I go live with two projects every Monday and Wednesday at 11.00 am BST I would love you to join me so don’t forget to like my page and tune in next week. You can find me here
For my projects I used the wonderful Sweetly Swirled stamp set for my projects. Its got some really versatile images which would work for so many different projects.
I just love the scribbled circles and an added bonus of a oval shape, which means most of the sentiments will fit inside.
Sweetly Swirled Joseph’s Coat Technique Card
Joseph’s coat is a technique that I haven’t used for quite some time and is traditionally made with vibrant colours covered with Black ink, but for this project I decided to shake it up a little. As with yesterday’s card the base is made with a piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock cut at 10.5 cm by 29.7 cm and scored at 14.8 cm to form a card.
I took a piece of Whisper White card measuring 7.0 cm by 10.cm and using a dauber added all the colours above apart from the Blueberry Bushel, which we will use later! You can really just add the colours any way you want, but I suggest you try not to blend the colours too much to avoid any muddy brown colours. Check out the video on my face book live here for a step by step tutorial.
Once dry ( You can speed up the process using a heat gun), I stamped the scribbled circles in Versamark and embossed using Clear Stampin’ Emboss powder. Then take a sponge Brayer cover the whole piece with the Blueberry Bushel ink. Build up the layers of the ink until you can’t really see the colours apart from where the embossing is. TIP: take a dry piece of kitchen towel or a tissue and buff the surface to remove any ink on the embossed areas. It really makes the colours pop!
Tap a Wink of Stella on top of a bone folder to create splatters on top of the paper. Now attach to a piece of Whisper White card measuring 7.5 cm by 10.5 cm and mount to the base using some dimensionals.
Finally stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of piece of whisper white in Blueberry Bushel ink and die cut it using the Layering Oval dies mount onto a die cut scrap of Poppy Parade card. Mount with one dimensional and a spot of glue where over lapping the topper.
Sweetly Swirled Joseph’s Coat Technique Card – Alternative Colours
For my actual Facebook live I changed the colours up to be a little softer to show it really doesn’t matter what colours you chose you can get fantastic results every time! This time I sponged all the colours onto the base white card, except for the Basic Gray, which I used to cover the embossed piece. I also added another layer of silver foil as a matt measuring 10.2cm by 7.2 cm and for the sentiment.
You could easily use a whole piece of Whisper white card and make a whole heap of cards in one go. I love this technique and will be using it again very soon.
Voila!
I had great fun making this project and I would love to know what you think? So please do leave me a comment.
Don’t forget I will be back on Wednesday with two more card makes. If you would like to join me then I will be going live on my Face Book page KISS Kreative – Sara Sayers at 11.00am BST so see you there!!!
