Hello there Crafty friends. Welcome to this month’s Technique Squad Blog Hop. Where each month we share projects using a particular technique. This time we are creating using the Faux Embossing Technique and & I am very excited to share my Magnolia Mood Birthday Card.
Magnolia Mood
When this bundle was released I just knew I had to grab it. The floral images remind me of a wonderful Magnolia that we had stretching across the front of our house, which unfortunately we had to remove as the roots were damaging our drains.
The images have a Victorian lithograph feel. The stamp set comes with a a fabulous set of dies , which were key to todays technique.
What Is The Faux Embossing Technique
Faux embossing technique is a lovely technique which allows you to use your stamps & dies in a different way to create fun backgrounds
- Ink – Stamp your image/background in white ink, then stamp again in a darker shade just the left. This creates 3D effect imitating embossing.
- Dies – By placing die cut shapes on a background of the same colour, it mimics the look of embossing, but it’s not!
Magnolia Mood Birthday Card
Today’s card uses dies to create the background and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it came out.
