Hello there Crafty friends. Welcome to this month’s Stamp Impressions Europe Blog Hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around Europe and we will be sharing some wonderful ideas based around a monthly theme. This month we are sharing some Projects using Special techniques & I am sharing my emboss resist Christmas cards
What is the emboss resist?
I love heat embossing and blending so this techniques is one of my favourites!
It’s important to select images with an interesting outline and I have a couple of great suggestions that I have used below.
Stamp the image/(s) in Versamark and heat emboss in either clear of white embossing powder onto white or pale coloured card. My personal favourite is Shimmery White card.
TIP: Emboss small sections to create crisp embossed images
Next use a blending brush to add your ink, building up the colour gently. The embossed areas will resist the ink.
You can use just one colour or a mixture of clashing or coordinating colours.
Once you are happy with the colour saturation set aside the card for a couple of minutes and then take a piece of kitchen towel and wipe any ink off the embossed areas. Any ink will be removed on the embossed areas and the white sections will now really pop
Season of Chic STAMP SET
This stamp set has the prefect images for this technique and they are just so pretty too!
Leaves of Holly
This is also a wonderful stamp set to create fantastic emboss resist Christmas cards
Create Emboss Resist Christmas Cards – Snowflakes
This is my favourite colour combination at the moment. Fresh and contemporary!
The snowflake as been heat embossed in clear on a piece of Shimmery White card to for some added sparkle
The ink has been blended in bands and just looks so pretty
Add some splatters of Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics & Snowflake Accents puff paint, then gently heat with a hot gun to slightly puff up the paint
The sentiment has been heat embossed in white on a scrap of Basic Black card, trimmed and added to the card with Dimensionals
To finish add lots of For Everything Fancy Sequins – You can never have enough bling!
Create Emboss Resist Christmas Cards – Holly
If bright contemporary colours are not your thing then how about this more muted card using traditional greens?
Keeping it simple with the sequins being replaced with some flecking of Wink of Stella. I’m really pleased with how well this card came out!
Voila!
I so enjoyed making these cards and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.
