Welcome to the Stampin Dreams Blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. We love showcasing some of the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. This month’s theme is Throwback Thursday. I am thrilled to share my Simple This Birthday Piggy cards
This Birthday Piggy
This stamp set is absolutely adorable and is great for colouring & simple Stamping.
Simple This Birthday Piggy cards
I decided to play strictly by the rules and case some cards I made four years ago using the This Little Piggy stamp set. So even the images are similar!
You can find the original post here
Simple This Birthday Piggy cards
Recreating a previous card is a great way to jump start your creativity. I often use previous layouts as inspiration and with images being so similar it was a perfect set of cards to recreate
How adorable are these cards? So easy to recreate with many images and colour ways.
Simple This Birthday Piggy cards – Birthday Card
I recreated the layout exactly as the previous cards. I swapped the original striped paper for a piece of DSP from the Design a Daydream 12″ by 12″ Designer Series Paper.
The Blackberry Bliss card has been embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. The image has been coloured with Stampin Blends ad the balloon make super shiny using some Fine Tip Glue.
Have you noticed that rather lush ribbon. Its actually a piece of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon that has been coloured with a Dark Stampin Up Blend – Super simple and an easy colour match!
Simple This Birthday Piggy cards – Measurements
- Base – Thick Basic White – 29.7 cm by 10.5 cm scored at 14.9 cm and folded to form card
- First Layer -Blackberry Bliss – 14.3 cm by 10.0 cm
- Second Layer – Design a Daydream 12″ by 12″ Designer Series Paper – 13.3 cm by 6.0 cm
- Third Layer – Basic white – 8.5 cm by 6.0 cm
These measurements will work for all for the cards below with the exception of the basic White image layer
Simple This Birthday Piggy cards – Thinking Of You
For my next card I added some die cut layering circles with the image taking centre stage
The Old Olive card was embossed with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder.
The image was coloured with blends and outlined with some Light Pool Party Stampin Blend to really make the image pop
Some Fine Tip Glue was added to the centre of the daisies
The Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon was looped to create a double faux bow and attached behind the die cuts with a piece of tear tape.

How cute is this moped riding Piggy?
This time the Coastal Cabana Layer was embossed using the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder.
Sneak Peak Playful Piggy Dies
I just couldn’t resist having play with the NEW Playful Piggy Dies which are available from the 1st September and they were made to coordinate with this wonderful stamp set. These are one of six Perfect Partners coordinating dies, which are available for a limited time during September.
I really went to town with this card making full use of the dies.
The birthday piggy image has been supplemented with a die cut cart, presents, bow, banners, grass and flowers from some scrap card.
The Petal Pink card layer has been embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder and looks just like plaster. So pretty!
A few loops of Linen Twine have been added to balance the colour.
Voila!
I so enjoyed making these cards and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.
