Welcome to our monthly Casually Crafting Blog Hop! and my Stampin Blends Sunflower Card
Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop
The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. From time-to-time, we may also include a project that is stepped-up for the added wow-factor
We will be sharing our ideas on the 3rd Saturday of each month and you can hop around the group and gather loads of inspiration. So grab yourself a cup of your favourite beverage, sit back & enjoy the hop!
Sketch Challenge
This month we have a sketch challenge. Have you tried one? Its a great way to inspire your creativity.
The rules are easy. You can rotate the sketch and resize/shape the elements if you want to as long as the original sketch layout can still be recognized.
Stampin Blends Sunflower Card
I love bold and bright cards, so this design was right up my street!
It’s an alternative version of this card I posted earlier in the week.
How to Make a Stampin Blends Sunflower Card
- Add Layers 1 & 2 to the base card using Multipurpose glue
- Add the four stripes of DSP to the card using Stampin Dimensionals
- Stamp the large Sunflower in Crushed curry
- Colour the petals with So Saffron and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends
- Add a little Light Crumb Cake Stampin blend to create some deeper shadows on the petals
- Colour the central part of the flowers with the Natural Tone Stampin Blends SU100, 200 & 300 adding a little Dark Crumb Cake Stampin Blend in the middle to create some highlights.
- Fussy cut and add to the middle of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Stamp two leaves in Early Espresso Ink and colour with the Soft Succulent Stampin Blends
- Fussy cut out then shape the leaves with a bone folder and add to the card using Stampin Dimensionals
- Stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso Ink onto a scrap of Basic White and trim down to a narrow strip.
- Attach to the card with a narrow strip of Stampin Dimensional cut from the edge of the pad.
- Finish with some Resin Dots
