Jul 17, 2021 | All Occasions, Birthdays, Blog Hop, Simple Stamping, Step by step

Welcome to our monthly Casually Crafting Blog Hop! and my pretty blended floral card.

Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop

The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. From time-to-time, we may also include a project that is stepped-up for the added wow-factor

We will be sharing our ideas on the 3rd Saturday of each month and you can hop around the group and gather loads of inspiration. So grab yourself a cup of your favourite beverage, sit back & enjoy the hop!

Sketch Challenge

This month we have a sketch challenge. I love using sketches to fire up my creativity and this one was super fun to use.

I have also been going through a bit of a masking phase at the moment.

You can see some of my other masking projects HERE.

Enjoy the Moment

So let me introduce you to the Enjoy the Moment Stamp Set

Pretty sketch style images of seed heads and gorgeous sentiments.

Enjoy The Moment Pretty Blended Floral Card

For my card I wanted to create a no layer card. These style of cards are great for keeping you postage costs down, but still pack a punch.

How to create an Enjoy The Moment Pretty Blended Floral Card

  • Create a card base of Thick Basic White cardstock measuring 29.7 cm by 10.5 cm, scored and burnished at 14.9 cm
  • Mask off a rectangle using washi or repositionable tape and add three narrow pieces to create the sketch layout
  • Add Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral and Cinnamon Cider using the Blending Brushes
  • Stamp the images and sentiment in Cajun Craze ink.
  • Remove the mask and add some splatters using Cinnamon Cider, Pale Papaya Stampin Blends & some Wink of Stella
  • Finish with three Genial Gems

Dragonfly Garden

I see lots of sunset cards , but rarely a sunrise, so that’s exactly what i did for my next card.

The Images in the Dragonfly Garden are perfect for this style of card.

Dragonfly Garden Pretty Blended Floral Card

This card is stepped up and includes a little embossing, but if you don’t have a Cut & Emboss machine you can easily miss it out. I am so pleased with how this card turned out and will definitely be making more of these.

How to Make this Dragonfly Garden Pretty Blended Floral Card

  • Take a piece of Shimmery White cardstock ( measuring 12.0 cm by 5.0 cm) and blend Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point inks to create a fresh early morning look
  • Stamp the Image in Night of Navy Ink
  • Emboss the image using the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder
  • Cut the piece into four pieces (from the bottom 1cm , 1.5 cm 2.0 cm – leaving 7.5 cm), to create the sketch layout
  • Add to the card using Stampin Dimensioanls
  • Stamp the sentiment onto Basic white and trim down to fit the card
  • Finish with some of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels
