Welcome to the Stampin Dreams Blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. We love showcasing some of the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. This month we have the Theme – Graduation. So I pulled out my Suit & Tie Dies for my super simple Graduation card.
Graduation Card
I just love how easy it was to make this card. My nephew has been living with us since his university closed to students due to the Pandemic. He is due to graduation in about three weeks time so time was off the essence!
He is working really hard and hoping to graduate with a first class degree in Economics. I know he is really missing the university life so I wanted to make him a special card, but also know he hates anything too fancy so pared down was the order of the day!
The Suit & Tie Dies made short work of creating the sash in the Bournemouth University graduation gown colours that I needed.
The letters are from the Playful alphabet Dies. Such a great set of dies for those more unusual occasions or to add a personalized name to a card. I popped the Gold foil onto a piece of foam adhesive sheet before cutting to make it easier to stick to the card – Super simple!
How to make this Super Simple Graduation Card
- Take the card base and burnish on the score line to create the card
- Take Layer 1 and emboss using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder
- Die cut three Jacket collars from the Suit & Tie Dies
- Layer up each colour to form the bands and then attach to the first layer using glue
- Trim off the top part of the Jacket lapel to create the sash
- Add to the base card using glue
- Die cut the letters G R A D & attach to the card
- Stamp the sentiment in Memento Black Ink onto a scrap of Basic White & cut out using the coordinating die.
- Trim three sides and adhere to the card with dimensionals
- Finish with two Matte black dots
Measurements for This Super Simple Graduation Card
- Base: Basic Black – 29.7 cm by 10.5 cm scored at 14.9 cm to form the base card.
- First Layer: Basic Black – 14.5 cm by 10.2 cm
- Gown : Pacific Point, Basic White, Gold Foil – 13.0 cm by 8.0 cm
- Sentiment: Basic White Scrap
- Letters: Gold foil – scrap
