May 19, 2021 | Blog Hop, Celebrate, Male, Men & Boys card ideas, Step by step, Techniques

Hello there Crafty friends. Welcome to this month’s Stamp Impressions Europe blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around Europe and we will be sharing some wonderful ideas based around a monthly theme. This month’s theme is Make it Masculine. Recently I made some fun backgrounds on my Facebook Live to create my whale done card & thought it would be perfect to share today!

Whale Done

Who could resist this cute stamp set and that adorable whale?

The Whale Done Stamp set is one of those stamp sets that works for everyone , but I love using it more male cards. especially those that are ‘young at heart’. Even better there is an accompanying punch that cuts out that cute whale. Woo hoo!

Make It Masculine Whale done card

I has so much fun making this card. I was lucky to see two humpback whales playing , jumping and breaching in the sea off Ecuador a few years. It was quite some sight! So I thought I would try and recreate it. My nephew has just secured himself a graduate Trainee job. So I thought this would make a perfect card for him.

How to create a Make It Masculine Whale done card

  • Take your piece of vellum & scribble over with Stampin blends
  • Use some rubbing alcohol and an old brush, muddle the colours together to soften the colouring. Leave to dry for a minute of so.
  • Splatter a little rubbing alcohol onto the vellum and instantly dry with a heat gun (Ensure the room is well ventilated)
  • Set aside to fully dry
  • Cut a border of clouds using scrap copy/grid paper
  • Take your piece of shimmery White card and use a blending brush to softly add the clouds
  • Stamp the sentiment in Pacific Point Ink
  • Stamp and punch the two whales in Pacific Point ink onto scraps of Shimmery White Card
  • Take the vellum and cut the stitched scallops to form waves.
  • Wrap around the piece of shimmery white card and secure on the back of the card using tear tape
  • Add the Whales using Dimensionals
  • Gently stamp the spray in stamped off pacific point ink
  • Splatter some Wink of Stella to add some additional ‘spray’
  • Mount onto a piece of Pool Party card (Layer 1) & then the base card using glue
  • Don’t forget to decorate the inside.
  • You are done!
