How to create your own wreath – Stamparatus techniques blog hop

Apr 6, 2021 | Birthdays, Blog Hop, Colouring

Welcome to the Crafty Collaborations blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. We love showcasing the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. This month’s theme is Stamparatus Techniques and I decided to revisit some cards I made last year on a Facebook Live where I demonstrated how you could create your own wreath using a single image and a Stamparatus, which I simply called Wreath Stamparatus techniques. Not very novel, but it does what it says!!

Wreath Stamparatus techniques

Here are some examples of cards I made using the technique. You can use so many images but you just need to be aware if the size so they don’t overlap too much so it does pay to practice on some scrap paper first

How to create your own wreath – Stamparatus techniques

The first thing you need to do is to create your own template. Our grid paper is perfect for creating the template. This one below I have been using for quite a number of years! You can see the first card I ever made with it here.

This template creates a 4″ circle wreath and is made up of two 4″ squares. one drawn onto the mini grid paper and the other cut out and glued on top to create an eight pointed star. You can make your squares as big as you wish and if you are feeling brave you could layer up three squares to create a 12 image wreath!

Stamp your wreath

  • Take your stamp and place it image down where the faint image of the elephant is, close the lid of the Stamparatus so the image sticks in place
  • Place a piece of 4″ square paper into the template corner up ink up and stamp pour image
  • Move the top corner of the paper to the left so it sits in the next point in the template & Stamp the next image
  • Repeat the process until you have a full circle of images
  • Voila!!

Feather wreath – Stamparatus techniques

For this card I used my 5″ template and the feather image from the Tasteful Textures Stamp Set to create the circle in Basic Gray Ink and then moved the feather to sit in between the stamped images and repeated in Flirty Flamingo ink. Stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set in Basic Gray. Finish with some of the pretty Woven Threads Sequin assortment.

Measurements in Metric (and Imperial)

  • Card Base: Thick Basic White – 29.0 cm by 14.5cm score at 14.5 cm (11 1/2″ by 5 3/4″ scored at 5 3/4″)
  • First Layer: In Good Taste DSP – 14.0 cm by 14.0 cm (5 1/2″ by 5 1/2″)
  • Second Layer: Basic White – 12.5 cm by 12.5 cm (5″ by 5″)

Floral painted rainbow wreath – Stamparatus techniques

For this card I used a flower image to create the circle in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then coloured the images with a bright rainbow of inks using my go to Wink of Stella! Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo & Gorgeous Grape.

I made this card with a super max 6″ square template mounted on a frame of Basic Black and created a super sized 8″ square card! Woo hoo

Floral painted rainbow wreath – Stamparatus techniques

For my last card I made another supersized card, but used each of the colours above directly on the image each time I stamped to create a true rainbow wreath.

This is probably my favourite one of the three as it is so bright and vibrant!

Voila!

I so enjoyed making these cards and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.

If you would like to know more about any of my projects please do get in contact and I would be happy to help you
