Creativity Abounds Blog Hop
This month we are using the products From the Hydrangea Hill Suite found on pages 18-20 of the Stampin’ Up! January to June Mini Catalogue. For my projects I chose to use the pretty Hydrangea Hill Designer Series paper as my focus. The colours are just right up my street. Adorable, pinks, blues and purples.
Quick & Easy Hydrangea Hill Birthday Cards
This month I have been batch making cards for the Hug a Hospital initiative, where hand made cards are given to our NHS workers to thanks them for their amazing service during the Pandemic. I ran a free online event to show my customers how they could use simple designs to bulk make cards. So I thought it would be fun to adapt one of the layout’s to make some pretty grab and go birthday cards.
Hydrangea Hill Birthday Card Layout
For the layout the card is a base of Basic White layered with a piece of the Hydrangea Hill DSP which has a piece of Rococo Rose Gathered Ribbon wrapped around it and tied in a knot.
The next two layers repeat the base card colour of Basic White and then another piece of the DSP. How pretty is that paper?
The sentiment is heat embossed in gold using the fabulous sentiments from my new go to sentiments in the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set.
Next die cut the sentiment using the Tasteful Label Dies and attach with DImensionals.
To finish add some of the cute Pastel Pearls.
Hydrangea Hill Birthday Card Measurements
- Base: Thick Basic White 29.7 cm by 10.5 cm scored and burnished at 14.9 cm
- First layer: Hydrangea Hill DSP – 14.3 cm by 10.0cm
- Second layer: Basic White – 10.3 cm by 7.0 cm
- Third Layer: Hydrangea Hill DSP – 10.0 cm by 6.7 cm
- Sentiment Strip: Basic White – 8.0cm by 4.0 cm
Hydrangea Hill Birthday Card alternatives
Why not swap out the basic white for Merry Merlot card stock for a more sophisticated twist?
Or why not switch the Basic White for Rococo Rose cardstock and then change the first layer of DSP for a piece of Basic white which has been embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder. The possibilities are endless.
