Welcome to the Crafty Collaborations blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. We love showcasing the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. This month’s Technique is based around die cutting and I thought I would show you a fabulous technique for using your intricate dies to make your own stencils.
Make your own Stencil
I love my dies and try to get as much use as I can out of them. Have you ever thought to use your dies to make a stencil? It’s so easy
I have used the adorable Succulent Dies to create a stencil using some scrap card. Just make sure that the card is larger that the die so you cover the card you are stencilling onto.
You can then use your inks with daubers, blending brushers or sponges to add colour. So simple!
For my cards I used some of the Frost White shimmery paint to add texture through the stencil with a piece of sponge onto a piece of Basic Gray Cardstock to give a shimmery ethereal effect. Isn’t it gorgeous?
The card was then mounted onto a piece of silver foil and then set onto a base of Basic Gray card using dimensionals
The sentiment is from the FREE sale-a-bration stamp set Heal Your Heart. and is embossed in silver.
Card Measurements
- Card Base: Basic Gray- 21.0 cm by 14.9 cm score at 10.5 cm
- First Layer: Silver Foil – 14.4 cm by 9.3 cm
- Second Layer: Basic Gray – 14.1 cm by 9.0 cm
- Third Layer: Silver Foil – 2.0 cm by 9.0 cm
- Fourth Layer: Basic Gray – 1.7 cm by 9.0 cm
Make your own stencil – Alternative
You can use any colour way you wish and for my alternative colour I used Rich Razzleberry teamed with Champagne foil card and the Champagne Mist Shimmer paint
I cut a little succulent detail in the Champagne foil this time and popped it under the sentiment.
Loss and sympathy cards are always difficult to make, but in this case I was able to pour a little love into the making of the cards. I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.
If you would like to know more about any of my projects please do get in contact and I would be happy to help you
So now it’s time to hop around the rest of the wonderful demonstrators blogs to see some more inspiration for using these wonderful patterned papers
