Welcome to the Stampin Dreams Blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. We love showcasing some of the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. This month we have the Theme – Movies & TV? I scratched my head for a little while and then when I was on a family zoom my little three year old niece suggested Reef– the cartoon. So the rest fell into place really easily as a sea scene just screams out for a Reef inspired Z-fold card

Reef inspired Z-fold card with the Shark Frenzy Bundle

Today I chose to use the adorable Shark Frenzy for my cards. I’m #sorrynotsoory if you get a little earworm in your head Baby Shark Doo doo doo doo doo doo ….

All the designs in the bundle follow that catchy little ditty, but also fulfilled the brief of the Sharks lording over the reef as per the movie that inspired this card.

To make life easier I picked the Whale of a Time 6″ by 6″ DSP as the basis of the card. As you can see they fit the bill perfectly.

Reef inspired Z fold card

First decision was to select the papers. The double sided pattern on this paper works perfectly. The offcuts were re-worked for front section.

The Z part of the card is created by folding back the front of the card on itself to create the shape. Add the DSP to the back of the card. Stamp the sentiment on first to make assembly easier

To stabilize the card shape add a piece of window sheet attached to the bottom of the card, but with the folds in reverse.

Tip: only lightly score the folds and then once attached to the card use s bone folder to burnish each crease so the card stays perfectly flat once folded.

Trim the offcut to leave just the sea bed and the corals, then attach along the front of the card

Stamp the large and small shark outline images and infill stamps in Pretty Peacock Ink onto a piece of scrap Basic White cardstock. I just love how the infill stamp makes creating these cards a cinch! Even better you can then die cut out the shapes.

To finish the card I added some die cut seaweed and bubbles in Just Jade, Pretty Peacock and Calypso Coral card stock,

Voila!

I so enjoyed making these cards and I would love to know what you think? Please do leave me a comment.
