Easy cards with Happiest of Birthdays – Share It Sunday

Nov 29, 2020 | Birthdays, Blog Hop, Card Ideas

Welcome to another Crafty Collaborators blog hop. I am part of an amazing group of demonstrators from all around the world. Each month we will be showcasing some of the wonderful products which can found in our suite of catalogues. Today we are starting a new Monthly hop called Share it Sunday where we will be sharing a recent project. So I chose Happiest of Birthdays.

I run a twice weekly free Card and a cuppa via my Facebook page , but this week I added a further class as a craft along event for Charity. I sold tutorials and the basic card kit and everyone joined me for my live and crafted along. It was great fun and raised vital funds for Princess Alice Hospice, a charity close to my heart.

The Happiest of Birthdays Stamp set has such a great selection of birthday sentiments and would make a fabulous companion set for any of our image only and mixed stamp sets.

To enable everyone to craft along I chose easy layouts with DSP adding much of the colour. These cards would be great to use as layouts for so many occasions and really showcase our beautiful patterned Designer series papers.

Happy B.DAY using the Happiest of Birthday

So, for my first card, I pulled out my Blackberry Bliss card stock and created a card base. I added a layer of Whisper White which had been embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder. Such a cute pattern.

For the next layer I added a piece of Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper onto a piece of Purple Post Card stock and mounted it onto the card using glue.

Next I added a die cut of leaves from the Forever Flourishes Dies, a strip of ribbon and the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss ink on a piece of Purple Posy Card.

For the inside of the card I added a scrap of the DSP and then used the large birthday stamp and inked it up with Highland Heather ink. Then using a dauber I gently dabbed Blackberry Bliss ink around the edges before stamping. It gives such a lovely effect and a real wow when you open the card. Isn’t that image just so adorable?

It’s your day! using the Happiest of Birthday

For my second project I decided to use some bright and vibrant colours to cheer us on a gloomy Friday morning.

The base is Just Jade card with a layer of Whisper White, which has been embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder.

Next I layered some of the Flowers for every Season Designer Series Paper onto some Magenta Madness cardstock and set them on the card using glue for the first layer and Dimensionals for the second.

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of Whisper white card using Misty Moonlight Ink. To die cut the shape I used the layering Oval dies which I mounted onto a piece of Just Jade card, which was cut with one of the scalloped oval dies from the same set.

Finally I added some enamel dots and a final pop of colour with a Magenta Madness bow.

For the inside I used my 2020-22 In-color markers to add colour to the Happy Birthday part of one of the stamps from the set. I made a little smudge (oops!) so added a hand drawn flower using the markers to cover it up!
