Quick and Simple
Well April and May are manic with birthdays so I needed some quick and simple cards to send to all my lovely friends and relatives on their special days. I also wanted to make sure I used up some of my existing stock to make way for all the exciting new products I have ordered from the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up Annual catalogue.
So sitting in my lovely sunny craft room to create some fun and bright cards which could be used for both men and women in my life. The wonderful Piece of Cake and Daisy Punch came to the rescue. I am thrilled both of these are carrying over to the new catalogue as they are firm favourites and so quick.
After about 30 minutes of playing around with ideas I came up with these cards. What do you think?
I love the crisp look of the Whisper White card against the Night of Navy notecards. Sadly, these notecards and envelopes are no longer available, but you could replicate the look using Night of Navy layer for the card front and appropriate DSP in a Navy design to line the envelopes. Stampin’ Blends made colouring the birthday cakes easy with a special purple one for a friend who loves that colour (Highland Heather). Although there are so many colours to choose from you could make the cakes in any rainbow of colours.
The Daisy was great as the petals do lay flat for posting but because I have used the bone folder to curl them they return to the 3D form once out of the envelope for that extra pop of fun.
These all took less time to make than a trip into town to buy something. Result! Bargain too as I had all the items and really used such small amounts of product the cost is only pence each, but hopefully they will be received containing the extra love a handmade card shows. Hoping these will be “happy mail” for my friends.
I quite agree Sue and hopefully I will be one of those stunning cards will be wending its way towards Cobham HINT HINT.
