Stampin Up demonstrator – Crafty Little Minx – Merry for Merlot

As soon as I saw the new Merry Merlot paper in the colour revamp I instantly knew that I wanted make an Eclipse card celebrating my favourite tipple.

This project is so quick and easy to make but I’ve added some additional time saver hints should you wish to try this card for yourself.

For this card I used the Half Full stamp set to create the background,  randomly colouring the glasses with my Stampin’ blends .

TIME SAVER You could easily just use a strip of patterned paper rather than make your own to save time.

I then spaced the Large letter Framelits W N &E  on the card (leaving space for the glass of wine that I used in stead of an I) and cut out the letters using my Bigshot. I then cut a further 4 of each of the letters from card stock

TOP TIP: Use the backing card in the DSP packets to make your layers. It’s thicker than the card stock, still has a white core and is cheaper on your pocket.

I then glued all the layers together. Stamped, coloured and cut out the wine glass and mounted it with dimensionals to form the I in my WINE!

I then made up the card and finally added some fine tip glue to the top of the glass to create a shiny finish. Voila

Finally, I have a couple more tips for making eclipse cards:

TOP TIP: Either use coloured card stock for the layers or before you glue the final top patterned layer onto your letters run a blend or your favourite marker around the edges like I have here. Just make sure that the glue is totally dry It really makes your letters pop.

TIME SAVER: Don’t have time to build up the letters? Then use one layer of fun foam. quick and simple but not as flexible to amend the height.
