Stampin up demonstrator – Crafty Little Minx – Curvy Keepsake Fish

I’m always asked where I get my inspiration from and sometimes I wonder myself! I have no idea where my design for this fish came from, but I know as soon as I clapped eyes on the free Irresistibly Yours Specialty designer series paper that this particular sheet looked like fishy scales.

The great thing about this free card is that each 12 by 12 pack starts off whisper white with a variety of resist patterns printed and then and all you have to do is add colour! You can do this by sponging, daubing, spritzing or simply stamping.

Easy Peasy! I just sponged the paper with the gold, green and blue inks and then wiped off the excess ink from the design and the resist pattern just popped. The eyes were just punched out and I added fins and a little tail using the blossom punch. A journal pen finished the face with a little cheeky smile…………………. Voila!

How cute

I hope you noticed that I mentioned that this paper is free. Its true! Just place an order for £45 before the 31st March in my shop and you could have this paper for free.

Well back to the crafty nook. Who knows what I will come up with next!

I love this fish!! I am wondering how you cut these out of a 12 x 12 sheet of paper. How did you cut the paper to go through the Big Shot?

Hi Dorine, I just cut the 12 x 12 in half and just managed to squeeze 2 boxes out of each piece. Does that help?

Did you get two boxes out of each 6 x 12 or two cuts out of each one?

Hi Dorine I just managed to squeeze 4 die cuts ie 2 boxes out of each 12 x 6 piece. It is really tight though and it does take some practice!

Hi Diana, yes the 1/2 inch punch and the two bigger eye sizes in the owl punch. Good luck. Would love to see your project once you are finished

I did get one finished. It’s a little light but for my first “scary” try, I thought It came out better than I expected. I used the wiggly eyes. I have 100+ to make. Oh, my. Going to be busy night and day. So excited. Paper has been coming in from all over. Glad people still had some left. I attached the fish. Remember, it’s my first try and I have a lot to make, so I’ll get better. If you can’t open it, let me know. I tried to copy and paste but it wouldn’t let me. I know nothing about computers.
